Nicole M. Romero is an Associate Attorney with Schefer Petric & Simpson in their West Palm Beach office. Ms. Romero earned her B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2017, and then completed her first year of law school at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law. Thereafter, she transferred with advanced standing to Florida International University, College of Law (“FIU”), where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2020, graduating with honors.

While completing her legal studies, Ms. Romero served on FIU Law Review for two consecutive years, where she worked alongside recognized professors and legal scholars in publishing their academic writings in the organization’s journal. Ms. Romero also excelled academically at FIU, making Dean’s List every eligible semester, in addition to receiving the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Civil Procedure and Florida Civil Practice. During law school, she clerked for a large insurance defense firm and a boutique family law firm in Miami, FL, gaining significant experience in civil litigation. She also helped underserved populations receive access to legal assistance while clerking in the Health & Income Maintenance Unit of Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. Today, Ms. Romero’s focus at Schefer Petric & Simpson is workers’ compensation defense, in which she utilizes her strong legal research and writing skills, as well as her attention to detail, to efficiently address her clients’ needs.
